We are officially opening the “status-update” channel. This space has been created to provide more transparent information regarding the current development process of the project. We understand that our recent silence may have caused concern, but this is entirely due to our focus on delivering a high-quality product. For us, “no news is good news,” as it shows that our team is fully focused on the work at hand.
Below is a detailed list of the systems and improvements we have been working on recently:
Team Expansion: We are currently hiring and expanding our team. This growth is essential to maintaining professional standards and improving overall efficiency in the development of Epitome.
Guild System: We have started working on the Guild System. This is a large-scale feature that requires significant architectural planning to ensure it is engaging. It is a long-term development goal.
Anti-Cheat Development: Improving our anti-cheat systems is an ongoing process that will continue throughout the project’s lifecycle. Our main goal is to provide a fair and cheat-free environment for all players.
Spiritual Guide System: We are close to completing the Spiritual Guide, an AI-powered interactive book. It serves both as an in-game guide and a mobile wiki, allowing players to ask questions through a text-based interface.
Project Roadmap: We are finalizing an official roadmap. Once completed, it will be shared with the community to provide a clearer vision of our future goals.
Dungeon Rework: We are increasing dungeon length and introducing branching paths. Players will now face strategic choices between different routes, including possible dead ends.
Web ItemShop: Our official ItemShop is in the final stages of development. Its main purpose at this stage is to allow players who missed the Kickstarter campaign to purchase game access using our premium currency, “Archon Seals.” The system is currently undergoing extensive testing.
Mob Behavior Improvements: We are working on improving monster behavior, with a focus on implementing dynamic attack sequences.
Combat Feel: Our team is fine-tuning the combat system to deliver better feedback and a more satisfying “feel” for every hit.
New Monsters and Bosses: New creature models and types have been completed and will soon be integrated into the M1 regions.
Streamer Mode & Privacy: A dedicated Streamer Mode is being finalized for content creators. It will include features such as hiding player names. We are also adding options to block private messages and trade requests to prevent harassment.
NPC Voice Mode Optimization: We are working on reducing the operational costs of the NPC Voice mode to ensure it remains accessible and affordable in the future.
Looting System Improvements: We are introducing a quality-of-life update for item collection. Players will no longer need to repeatedly press the “Z” key; holding it will allow continuous item pickup.
New Map (M2): Development of M2 is ongoing. Please note that the scope and design philosophy have evolved, which has extended development time. Our graphics team is currently working on full-scale modeling.
M1 Environment Updates: We are improving the “Coast” biome in M1. The beaches are being expanded and enriched with more environmental variety.
Discord RPC: We are integrating Discord Rich Presence. This feature currently shows your in-game status and will be expanded to include your character name and current map location.
